For someone who has a massive sweet tooth, reviewing a cake company has to be as good as it gets. Bakerdays got in touch with me via Twitter about reviewing one of their Letterbox cakes and I jumped at the chance. They kindly let me choose and design the entire cake, from what flavour I wanted, to the icing and the photo on top. It was so much fun to create it all. I sent across my design ideas on the 17th March and it arrived in perfect condition on the 23rd. When I opened the box, I was pleasantly surprised because, not only did they deliver the cake, but the presentation and little details really topped it off for me. You receive the cake in a metal tin which is such a lovely touch as you can keep this forever. Another thing is that they include balloons, candles and a party favor. If you were looking into sending a friend or family member a cake for their birthday or any special occasion, I would 100% recommend baker days. In terms of the actual cake itself, I chose a Dairy Free sponge. The reason I chose this is because I believe that if any company can make a fantastic Dairy Free sponge, then all their cakes must be amazing. The real question is, was I right? Well, let's face it, nothing compares to my Nan's chocolate sponge cake.. BUT for a Dairy Free sponge which came by post, it was pretty delicious. The cake was super moist (sorry if you hate that word) and light, which for me was a winner as I hate stodgy cakes. I've said it before, and I'll say it again.. bakerdays gets a 10/10 from me and I'll definitely order from them again.
